Congregational Life Committee (CLC)
CLC provides 3 services. The first is to provide support, feedback, and counsel to the pastor. The second is to help coordinate the mission/vision of SCC. Finally, CLC members try to be attentive to the community in order to identify needs that may be unmet and take action where needed.
Congregational Moderator
The moderator leads congregational meetings by organizing an agenda with the committees or individuals with proposals or reports to be discussed at the congregational meeting. The moderator also ensures that the Shalom Decision- Making Model (Worshipful Work model) is used in the discussion and decision making process.
Discernment Committee
Coordinates the filling of positions on committees and other positions as people rotate off.
Finance Committee
Consider and monitor financial matters of the congregation including preparing the budget.
Nurture Committee
The Nurture Committee facilitates opportunities for relationship building (i.e. small groups, gatherings…). The committee also provides support and encouragement to the congregation during life transitions and celebrations.
Pastoral Review Committee
The Pastoral Review Committee facilitates a review process between the congregation and the pastor.
Service/Outreach Committee
The Service/Outreach committee helps to provide opportunities for the congregation to put our faith into actions by kindling interest in and coordinating service opportunities that both enrich our lives while caring for the poor, the outcast, God’s creation, and fostering peace. Embolden the congregation to invite people to know and follow Jesus, and to live as an alternative society within the dominant culture.
Worship Committee
The Worship Committee organizes worship services and provides opportunities/encouragement for participants of SCC to explore their gifts and be involved in worship services.
